Michael Mann previously attached to direct. Jonathan Mostow previously attached to direct. Gabriele Muccino previously attached to direct, but dropped out due to creative differences.
Artisan Pictures purchased the rights to be produced by Weed Road Pictures. Columbia Pictures picked the project up in turnaround from Artisan.
Scott Free Productions originally purchased Vincent Ngo's spec screenplay "Tonight, He Comes." Ridley and Tony Scott were formerly attached to produce, and both considered it to direct.
Project was slated to start production in the summer of 2006, but was delayed with the hiring of Gabriele Muccino as director.
