Traveling in the Caribbean, wiley widower Tommy Tyler and his tomboy daughter, Spring, encounter millionaire Skelton and his vacationing nephew William Ashton. Tiring of life aboard his uncle's yacht, the young lawyer accepts an invitation to the Tylers' houseboat. Although the young people are immediately attracted to one another, their romance is interrupted by the visit of Tyler's disgruntled former associate, Cark. To pacify the old partner Tyler persuades Cark to invest heavily in an expedition to locate sunken treasure. A second former associate, Cleary, is also persuaded to part with a similar sum. When the vessel is found to contain only crumbling skeletons of slaves, Tyler retains the cash and eludes his angry investors. Having returned to his uncle's yacht, Ashton quickly discovers how much he loves Spring. With her father's blessing, the lawyer proposes. As Ashton and the pliant Spring board the yacht, Tyler speeds away to further adventures.
